The CHMP indicates that a health and safety practitioner has achieved a standard level of qualification as judged by their professional peers. This level of qualification is important in establishing credibility within the ever growing field of Environment, Safety and Health. Additionally, the demand for increased practitioners for hazardous material management related duties have increased tremendously. This has made the CHMP a unique "stand-alone" certification that provides increased status for Environmental, Health and Safety Practitioners. The certification does not require a college degree. Individuals meeting eligibility requirements must pass a multiple-choice examination in order to qualify for certification and earn the CHMP designation. The exam consists of 140 questions and you have 3 hours to take the exam. The CHMP is sponsored by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM).
